Supply Drive Success!

CISPAC is proud to celebrate the support of our community in collecting over $5,000 in school supplies for students in Allegheny and Westmoreland counties.

Lead sponsor, KeyBank, opened 19 local branches throughout the area to collect from staff and customers. Thanks to their support and the additional support of UBS Financial Services and Krystal Biotech, CISPAC will be able to distribute more than 300 backpacks to children in need.

The National Retail Federation estimates that families will spend at least $800 per student on new supplies, uniforms and other needs this back-to-school season. With 3 out of 10 students in Pittsburgh living in poverty, many students will have to go without these necessary items, leading to poorer outcomes in school and beyond. The supplies from this drive will be given directly to students in local districts and stock regional “free stores” where students can continue to pick up the supplies they need throughout the school year.

“Every child has the right to a good education, but there are supplies and other things that students need to succeed, and not every family has the means to provide,” says Bridget Clement, executive director of CISPAC. “We are so grateful for the support of KeyBank, UBS, Krystal Biotech, and all the members of our community that have supported this initiative.”
