Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) and Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit (OSTC)
The State of Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) issues these tax credits to eligible business that pay certain taxes; businesses must apply for the credits directly through the State of PA. Businesses who are approved by the DCED then provide gifts to 501(c)3 nonprofits that are approved by the DCED to receive these dollars, and in-turn the businesses receive a tax credit. The maximum tax credit possible is 90%.
CISPAC is eligible to receive the following:
- OSTC designated gifts
- EITC- Educational Improvement Organization (EIO) subcategory credits
- EITC – Scholarship Organization (SO) subcategory credits
All gifts recieved through the EITC and OSTC program are designated to help highschool youth who are at-risk of dropping out or who have already dropped out. Click the link below to view some TRUE examples of student drop outs whose lives were changed by CISPAC as a result of EITC and OSTC gifts.
