About the CISPAC and Roy A. Hunt Driver’s Education Program

This program is an extension of CISPAC’s Workforce Development (WFD) Implementation in the Sto-Rox community. It is designed to both empower and inspire high school juniors, seniors, and post-graduates to launch a successful career through a regional high priority, high wage apprenticeship that requires a valid PA driver’s license to enter or complete qualifications.

Enrollment in this program is an all-encompassing path to securing your license. Over the course of 6 weeks, students will learn the theory of driving and will obtain behind-the-wheel training with certified instructors. CISPAC, in collaboration with the Cindy Cohen Driver’s Education School and backing from the Roy A. Hunt Foundation, will provide 6 hours of Behind-the-Wheel lessons, 30 hours of online theory, and transportation to and from your home for in-person instruction all FREE OF CHARGE to you. Transportation to and from your exam and a vehicle to take the test in will also be provided when you are ready to take your exam.

Program Qualifications

Is this program right for you? Our team is looking for up to 20 motivated students with a history of participating in career readiness programs, provided by our staff or another organization. We are looking for students who want to be responsible, want to learn how to communicate, and can show up on time ready to thrive and learn.

Above all, CISPAC knows how critical obtaining your license is to earning flexibility in your career path and future. Your education in this program signifies not just your ability to navigate Pittsburgh’s streets, but a dedication to self-improvement and goal seeking. That is why CISPAC is partnering with Focus On Renewal and creating new possibilities to bridge the gap between our regional workforce needs and students that have the desire and drive required to enter these demanding careers but lack resources or opportunity to qualify.
